Osoyoos Curling Club has a very active junior program for children aged 8 to 18 years of age. Older juniors play in the adult and/or fun leagues. The younger juniors start off playing with little rocks until they grasp the technique of sliding with a balanced delivery. Usually by the end of the first year they graduate to the bigger stones. Under the tutelage of certified Curl BC instructors the little rockers progress through the various levels of the Premier Sports Award for Curling program learning basic skills, etiquette & on ice safety lessons. The older children continue their skill development in a more competitive environment where their performances are evaluated in games or in game like scenarios. These are the curlers who form teams & compete in bonspiels & interchanges with other clubs.

The junior program begins in mid October with an instructional clinic for new & experienced curlers. In December the juniors & their parents participate in a Turkey Shoot in conjunction with our annual Christmas party. In January the McDonald's Junior Curling League begins & the season winds up at our annual Elks Lodge Junior Bonspiel on the first weekend in March. The Elks spiel has rapidly become one of the more popular junior venues in the Okanagan mainly because we guarantee prizes for all of the curlers.
